Few events in life are as stressful as the sudden shock, duties, and costs that often accompany the loss of a loved one.

What makes it so much more difficult for families is that this is a topic people just don't talk about...so when they are forced by fate to finally deal with it, they encounter "sticker shock" and are overwhelmed by the huge number of duties and tasks --- I have a list of 80, just for starters --- that must be completed in a short time, and while stressed, rushed, and grieving:  The absolute WORST time to be making long-lasting, major financial and family decisions.

Think about this:

Historically, funeral and cemetery prices double about every decade.  Will your income and/or spending power keep pace?

On Jan. 24, the Los Angeles Times carried an ad for a bank offering only 1.0 percent earnings on a half-million dollar minimum balance!  Yet, some folks will take that offer, and not even think about SAVING 50% over the next ten years' expected price increases by funding their eventual funeral and cemetery needs NOW.

Baby boomers have always been the largest demographic of the population.  Boomers are now in their 60s.  Space in most cemeteries in San Diego County is already at a premium.  What will happen to those property prices when they become scarce due to boomers' mortality?

Many people think by funding just the property in advance, they're covered.  Please call me for an appointment so we can see exactly what IS prepaid, and what normal at-need charges are NOT.  When dealing with a loss, you don't need any more surprises.
